Most of the area lakes are 10 to 14 feet below normal. Most of the larger cities are restricting water usage. Most counties have a burn ban in effect. We are in the middle of an 18 month drought. It’s been raining for a couple of days now. I should be happy about rain. Right? We need it. Right?
Everybody loves rain except the utility companys. It’s amazing how bad the rain can screw up the phone system after a hot dry summer. People don’t say, “HI!” anymore. The first thing I hear people say: “Hey you…everytime it rains, my phones go out!” Good thing it hasn’t rained much this year. So out of almost 300 days this year, your phones have been out for two! Thank God for that.
